Echo Lynch BagesThe 2009 Echo de Lynch Bages has a fragrant bouquet with estuarine infused black fruit, crushed rose petals and hints of graphite. The palate is medium bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, weighted evenly from start to finish with a composed cedar and mint infused finish. Excellent. This isn’t a big wine but the superb detail and unmatched precision are stunning but be aware that it will be a wine for the patient as this is very understated at present and will very definitely require at least a decade of cellar time to really open up

and this is even more true in a classic vintage such as this

This is an interesting wine at present as the nose is open yet the palate impression is compact and quite closed

Here too there is very good vibrancy to the lilting and well-detailed medium weight flavors that flash evident salinity on the focused

later than in other vintages

This is oaky stuff today but it’s impressively stylish all the same and the underlying material is so good that this should harmonize with time

it delivers a multitude of savory meat and toast layers

they are a point of pride among those who so passionately collect them and put them aside to age in their cellars

This is excellent but note well that it will definitely require at least some patience
